MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133483 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'smart insole system with mobile app for real-time gait analysis.'
Inventor(s) include R. Govindaraj.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Smart Insole System with Mobile App for Real-Time Gait Analysis The present invention relates to a Smart Insole System integrated with a Mobile Application and Al-powered Cloud Platform for real-time gait analysis and foot health monitoring. The system consists of intelligent insoles with a pressure sensing layer, inertial sensors, and infrared sensors if needed for monitoring blood oxygen and circulation. The pressure sensing layer features a network of conductive lines in both directions creating numerous sensing points that are ideally located to record the distribution of pressure on the foot and the dynamics of gait. The pressure sensors in the smart insoles transfer data to a mobile application wirelessly using Bluetooth(R), Wi-Fi, or 5G, which allows for the real-time visualization of foot pressure maps, gait patterns, cadence, and the position of the center of pressure. The mobile application applies Humanize Al algorithms in signal processing, feature extraction, and predictive analytics, thereby offering personalized recommendations for posture correction, injury prevention, and performance optimization. The data is collected and then sent securely to a cloud-based big data platform using blockchain technology to ensure data integrity. An Al computing module on the platform then carries out advanced analysis to spot abnormalities, risk prediction, and the generating of actionable insights. The innovation presents a solution that is not only comfortable but also cost-effective and scalable in healthcare, sports training, rehabilitation, and preventive diabetic foot care."
