MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611052567 A) filed by Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab, on April 24, for 'smart hydrogel patch based on natural polymers for stress regulation and metabolic balance.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Loveleen Kaur; Shifali Gupta; and Dr. Thakur Gurjeet Singh.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a smart hydrogel patch for stress adaptation and metabolic balance. The patch comprises biodegradable polymers including pectin, chitosan, and alginate, integrated with ZnO nanoparticles and herbal adaptogens. It detects physiological stress indicators such as pH, temperature, and sweat composition, and responds by controlled release of bioactives. The system reduces cortisol levels, enhances antioxidant activity, and regulates neurotransmitters. The invention provides a sustainable, non-invasive, and stimulus-responsive transdermal platform for effective and prolonged stress management and improved physiological balance."
