MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123283 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'smart grid monitoring system detection using deep learning.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Narayana Moorthi. M; and Tulika Suman.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a smart grid monitoring system (300) including a data collection layer (302) with IoT sensors (304), smart meters (306), and PMU units (308) for collecting real-time electrical parameters including voltage, current, frequency, and power quality data. The system includes a data processing layer (310) with a data preprocessor (312) for cleaning collected data, a feature extractor (314) for identifying relevant parameters, and a StandardScaler module (316) for normalizing features. An AI model layer (318) includes a stability ANN model (320) for classifying grid stability conditions and a fault detection model (322) for identifying fault types including line-to-ground, line-to-line, and three-phase faults. A deployment layer (326) includes a real-time predictor (330) for generating immediate grid condition assessments based on outputs from both models."
