According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a smart footwear-mounted GNSS tracking device designed for real-time location monitoring, intelligent geofencing, and user safety alerting. The system comprises an electronics module mounted on the top surface or ankle region of the footwear, incorporating a GNSS receiver, microcontroller, wireless communication unit, rechargeable battery, and optional motion or pressure sensors. The module acquires and processes location coordinates and compares them with predefined geofence boundaries stored on-device or in a paired mobile or cloud application. Upon detecting a geofence violation, fall event, abnormal movement, tampering, or manual SOS activation, the device generates alert signals and transmits them to designated caregivers through cellular, LoRa, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or similar communication networks. Power-efficient operation is achieved through adaptive GNSS sampling and low-power modes. The invention provides a lightweight, non-intrusive, and reliable wearable solution for enhancing safety of children, elderly persons, dementia patients, and individuals requiring continuous monitoring."
