MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641046875 A) filed by Agni College Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 13, for 'smart emergency response system featuring redundant braking and instant accident alerts.'

Inventor(s) include Arthi K; Aravinth A; and Sanghavi A.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The rapid growth in the number of vehicles has led to a significant increase in road accidents and safety concerns. Many accidents occur due to sudden brake failure, mechanical issues, or lack of timely assistance. In such situations, delay in response can lead to severe injuries or even loss of life. Therefore, there is a strong need for an intelligent system that can detect emergencies and respond immediately without human intervention. This project presents a Smart Emergency Response System designed to improve vehicle safety using embedded technology. The system continuously monitors the condition of the vehicle using sensors such as a vibration sensor for accident detection and a brake failure detection mechanism. These sensors collect real-time data, which is processed by a microcontroller to identify abnormal conditions. When an emergency situation such as brake failure or accident is detected, the system takes immediate action to ensure safety. It activates a buzzer to alert nearby people and displays."
