MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122412 A) filed by New Prince Shri Bhavani College Of Engineering And Technology; Madesh R; Logendra G; Vaheed Basha U; Sanjay S; and Jasmin M, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'smart electric vehicle with customized soc integration.'

Inventor(s) include Madesh R; Logendra G; Vaheed Bhasha U; and Sanjay S.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The rapid growth of electric mobility highlights the need for smarter, safer, and more efficient control systems, especially in lightweight platforms such as electric bicycles. Conventional microcontroller-based designs face limitations in speed, scalability, and integrated safety mechanisms. To overcome these challenges, this project introduces a customized System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture on FPGA, consolidating critical functions like motor control, regenerative braking, battery monitoring, and fault detection into dedicated logic blocks. This integration.ensures faster execution, lower latency, and improved reliability compared to traditional approaches. A distinctive feature of the system is a thennally engineered battery protection chamber equipped with Peltier cooling modules, which activate automatically when temperature thresholds are exceeded to prevent overheating, fire, or explosion risks. The design also incorporates regenerative braking to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy, extending battery life and vehicle range. For user interaction, a real-time dashboard powered by Zephyr RTOS provides speed, state-of-charge, brake status, and fault alerts, while maintaining seamless communication with the SoC core. With its modular structure supporting loT-based monitoring, GPS navigation, and predictive maintenance, the project establishes a scalable and patent-worthy framework for SoC-driven e-mobility, combining hardware acceleration."
