MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521129563 A) filed by Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology, Sangli, Maharashtra, on Dec. 20, 2025, for 'smart dual-sensor rupture disk monitoring and alerting system with automatic shutdown and iot connectivity.'
Inventor(s) include Shreyash Santosh Kore; Pratik Vinod Chougule; and Prof. Juber Mohamad Shaphi Mulla.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention describes an intelligent rupture disk monitoring and safety system designed for compressors and other high-pressure equipment. The system transforms a traditional passive rupture disk into an active sensing component by embedding a conductive trace that breaks upon rupture, generating an open-circuit signal. A downstream flow sensor simultaneously detects the sudden discharge of compressed air, providing redundant confirmation. These signals are processed by a microcontroller that activates audible and visual alarms, initiates automatic compressor shutdown via relay control, and transmits remote alerts through GSM/IoT communication. Optional data logging enables integration with Industry 4.0 environments. Experimental implementation demonstrates rapid detection ( 200 ms), improved operational safety, reduced downtime, and compatibility with existing industrial setups. The invention provides a cost-effective and scalable upgrade to conventional safety mechanisms by uniting mechanical protection with intelligent electronic monitoring and automation."
