MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104219 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'smart dog deterrent system for two-wheelers.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Pardeep Kumar; and Akansha Chaurasia.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A Smart Dog Deterrent System (100) for two-wheelers integrates ultrasonic emitter (102), LED strobe unit (104), sensor module (106), control circuit (108), and manual override switch (110) to prevent stray dog encounters. The system detects approaching animals using infrared and motion sensors and automatically activates deterrent signals. Safety lockouts (112) prevent activation when the vehicle is stationary, while an adaptive control circuit (114) adjusts ultrasonic frequency and LED brightness based on animal proximity. A timed shutdown (116) conserves energy, and a backup power unit (118) ensures uninterrupted function. The compact, vibration-resistant design provides dual control modes for both automatic and manual operation, enhancing rider safety and ensuring humane deterrence."
