MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541116730 A) filed by Easwari Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 25, 2025, for 'smart discipline monitoring using deep learning based object detection and ble signal analysis for educational environments.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. M Mohana; Lipsa Sahoo; and Mathumitha R.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Smart Discipline Monitoring Using Deep Learning Based Object Detection and BLE Signal Analysis for Educational Environments ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION 5 10 15 20 Maintaining discipline and ensuring safety in educational institutions present congoing challenges with manual monitoring systems. This invention introduces an Al and loT based Smart Discipline Monitoring System that automates student identification, dress code verification and real-time campus tracking. The system employs a YOLOvS based deep learning model for object detection of ID cards and uniform compliance from live camera feed, while Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons embedded in student ID cards enable continuous location tracking through RSSI based proximity detection. Detected violations such as missing ID cards, improper dress code or unauthorized movement are automatically logged with timestamps and location details in a centralized database. Integrated with institutional ERP systems, the solution ensures seamless attendance management and automated alerts. The system's modular and scalable design allows deployment across multiple checkpoints with potential expansion for additional monitoring-like-littering or crowd detection, enhancing campus discipline, transparency and operational efficiency."
