MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641007424 A) filed by R. M. D. Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 26, for 'smart car tire pressure monitoring and emergency alert system with iot and location-based assistance.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Jayaudhaya J.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an intelligent Car Tire Pressure Monitoring and Emergency Alert System designed to enhance vehicle safety through continuous, real-time monitoring of tire conditions. The system employs pressure sensors installed on each tire to measure air pressure and detect abnormal variations, ensuring operation within safe limits. A vibration sensor is integrated to identify sudden tire bursts or blowouts. An embedded microcontroller processes sensor data and triggers visual alerts through an LED and real-time status display on an OLED screen. In emergency conditions, the system automatically transmits alert messages along with the vehicle's live geographical location to a designated caretaker using GSM and GPS modules. Additionally, tire pressure data is uploaded to a cloud platform via IoT connectivity for remote monitoring and analysis. The system further enhances safety by regulating vehicle speed when unsafe tire conditions are detected and provides nearby puncture repair shop recommendations through a mobile application. This invention offers a comprehensive, automated, and cost-effective solution for preventing tire-related accidents and improving road safety."
