MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641017873 A) filed by Dayananda Sagar Academy Of Technology And Management; Mrs. Akshatha N S; Ms. Pooja B I; Mrs. Aparna Gopinath; Mrs. Radha Krishna Dhawad; and Mrs. Likhita Devineni, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 17, for 'smart building system with advanced energy management and control technology.'

Inventor(s) include Mrs. Akshathas; Ms. Pooja B I; Mrs. Aparna Gopinath; Mrs. Radha Krishna Dhawad; and Mrs. Likhita Devineni.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a smart building system with advanced energy management and control technology. The system integrates a plurality of smart sensor nodes (102) for monitoring environmental parameters like occupancy, temperature, and light, with a central intelligent gateway (104) and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine on a central control server (105). The AI engine analyzes real-time and historical sensor data to learn occupancy patterns and predict future environmental states. Based on these predictions, the system autonomously generates and executes optimized control commands for building subsystems such as HVAC, lighting, and shading (106) to minimize energy consumption while maintaining occupant comfort. A user interaction module (107) provides a dashboard for real-time monitoring, manual overrides, and feedback. This feedback is used to continuously retrain the AI models, creating a self-learning, adaptive building environment. The system's predictive, integrated approach overcomes the limitations of reactive and siloed building management systems, resulting in significant energy savings, reduced operational costs, and enhanced user comfort."
