MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611002023 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Jan. 8, for 'smart blind stick system for enhanced mobility and safety of visually impaired person.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a smart blind stick system (100) designed to assist visually impaired users in independent navigation. A camera module (112) captures environmental visuals and provides audio descriptions via a speaker (114). A GPS module (116) enables navigation, while vibration motors (120) deliver haptic alerts. The telescopic stick (124) integrates with a compact ABS casing (126) with a shoulder strap (128). The system (100) supports voice commands through a microphone (122), sends SOS alerts (134), and offers waterproof, durable, and ergonomic design for enhanced mobility and safety of visually impaired individuals."
