MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511114809 A) filed by Netaji Subhas University Of Technology, New Delhi, on Nov. 21, 2025, for 'smart avatar leveraging agentic retrieval augmented generation (rag) with long term memory (ltm) to provide healthcare information.'

Inventor(s) include Mr Ishan Mangotra; Prof Sushama Nagpal; Prof Jyotsana Singh; Dr Priti Bansal; and Dr Gaurav Singal.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system for cardiovascular disease awareness and healthcare communication. The system utilizes a camera unit to capture facial features for face detection and head tracking, a microphone unit configured to receive an audio query, a processor unit operatively coupled with camera unit and microphone unit, a speaker unit, and a display unit. Moreover, smart avatar leverages Agentic Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) with Long Term Memory (LTM) to provide healthcare information on cardiovascular diseases. Said processor unit processes audio data through an agentic artificial intelligence pipeline comprising sequential stages including a preprocessor, a decider, a general agent, a retrieval-augmented generation agent, and a postprocessor to generate a healthcare response, supplements said processing through a short-term and long-term memory, and performs text-to-speech synthesis on said healthcare response. Said speaker unit broadcasts audio output and utilizes display unit renders an avatar providing synchronized visual animation."
