MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517062018 A) filed by Shanghai Huawei Water Saving Irrigation Corp. Ltd., Shanghai, on June 29, 2025, for 'smart-agriculture-based drip irrigation device and drip irrigation system.'
Inventor(s) include Zhang, Zhonghua; Zhang, Xiangfei; Wu, Xiaoli; Jiang, Tingting; and Wang, Yan.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application belongs to the technical field of drip irrigation apparatuses. Disclosed are a smart-agriculture-based drip irrigation device and drip irrigation system. The drip irrigation device comprises a box, wherein a water storage bag is provided inside the box; a water output pipe is fixed to the lower side of the water storage bag, and the lower end of the water output pipe extends out of the bottom of the box; and several squeeze blocks are distributed on one side of the water storage bag from bottom to top, and the squeeze blocks are suitable for squeezing the water storage bag one by one from bottom to top under external driving. By placing the box in a high position, drip irrigation can be performed by means of water pressure; when the water level in the water storage bag drops, the lower end of the water storage bag is squeezed by the squeeze blocks and deforms, and at this moment, the containment volume of the lower side of the water storage bag is reduced, so that the water level in the water storage bag rises until the water level in the water storage bag reaches an appropriate height, and then a driver stops operation. Thus, the effect of maintaining the water level is achieved, thereby maintaining the water pressure and stabilizing the drip irrigation speed. The smart-agriculture-based drip irrigation device and drip irrigation system of the present application achieve the effect of replacing a water pump."
The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 20, 2024, under International application No.PCT/CN2024/113393.
