MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527054839 A) filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd., Beijing, on June 6, for 'small data transmission (sdt) method and apparatus, and communication device and storage medium.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure are a small data transmission (SDT) method. The method is executed by an access network device. The method comprises: sending configuration information to a terminal, wherein the configuration information is used for indicating a parameter threshold value of a trigger condition for triggering SDT. Here, since the configuration information indicates the parameter threshold value of the trigger condition for triggering SDT, after receiving the configuration information, the terminal can determine, on the basis of the parameter threshold value configured by a network, the trigger condition for triggering SDT. When the trigger condition is met, SDT can be triggered, such that the terminal can execute SDT under the control of a network side; and compared with SDT which is not controlled by the network, the amount of SDT failure situations is reduced, and the transmission reliability of SDT can be improved."
