MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026632 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 30, 2024, for 'sleeping posture changing assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An sleeping posture changing assistive device, comprising an extendable platform 1 positioned over a surface of a bed, a pair of L-shaped telescopic rods 2 position a suction cup 3 over ground surface for restricting movement of platform 1, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 determines width of bed, a U-shaped member 5 installed over platform 1 and partitioned into sections via a flap 6 and sections are accessed by a user to position thigh portion of user in each sections, a laser sensor determines dimensions of thigh portion, two pneumatic units arranged with member 5 to prove extension to member 5 to accommodate user's thigh, a primary ball and socket joint 9 turn user's thigh, a L-shaped telescopic bar 10 positions a curved plate 11 beneath back portion of user, a secondary ball and socket joint 12 to provide support to user's back portion."
