MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019800 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 5, for 'sleeper laying assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Binod Kumar Sahu.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sleeper laying assistive device comprising a body 101 developed to be positioned on a rail of a railway track, a pair of motorized wheels 102 for providing movement to said body 101 over said rail, a touch interactive display panel 103 for enabling said user to provide input specifications for laying sleepers, a chamber 104 for storing multiple sleepers, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 for determining dimensions of said stored sleepers, an extendable L-shaped rod 106 for extending to position a motorized clamp 107 to grab said sleeper for positioning in proximity to space in between said rails, a motorized rotating arrangement 108 for rotating said sleeper at a pre-fed angle required to fit said sleeper beneath said rails, a speaker 106 to produce audio signals for notifying to refill said chamber 104."
