MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611050902 A) filed by Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab, on April 21, for 'sleep assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sleep assistive device, comprises of a body 101 configured to support a head of a user, a pair of motorized six bar linkage arrangement 102 having an eye covering mask 103 to cover user's eyes, an eye blink sensor 106 to detect eye activity of user, an inspection module to detect nearby insects and sleep disturbing elements, a motorized interconnected sliding unit 108 for supporting a 4-DOF arm 109, a suction unit 110 to trap nearby insects, an iris diaphragm 111 to modulate a cross-sectional area of suction inlet to regulate an insect trapping pathway, a plurality of flexible thermoelectric films 112 to provide localized heating and cooling to user, a plurality of air bladder units 113 to redistribute pressure and maintain neutral head alignment, and a plurality of vibration units 114 to provide at least one of sleep assist therapy, disturbance suppression, and wake up cues."
