MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621023886 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Feb. 27, for 'skin ailment detection and treatment system.'
Inventor(s) include Muttanna Gowda T V; Y. V Ramana Reddy; Dr. Madhu Shukla; Simrin Fathima Syed; Vipul Ladva; Akshay Ranpariya; and Neel Dholakia.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A skin ailment detection and treatment system, comprising a housing 101 having a touch-enabled display unit 102 to enable tactile and visual interaction, a user registration arrangement to capture biometric data of the user to create a personalised profile, a camera 103 and a fingerprint sensor 104 to capture facial and fingerprint data of the user, a platform 105 to enable user to stand on, an extendable plate 106 for placement of a body part of the user for scanning, a scanning arrangement to scan the body part of the user, the scanning arrangement comprising at least one scanner for scanning the body part of the user on the plate 106, a hyperspectral imaging sensor to capture detailed spectral data of the skin to identify abnormal tissue and discoloration, and a multispectral camera 107 to capture images across multiple wavelengths to detect variations in skin pigmentation, and texture."
