MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006950 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'skateboarding assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ranjan Sariyal; Dr. Dinesh Arora; Dr. Parveen Singla; and Dr. Mandeep Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A skateboarding assistive device, comprises of a platform 1 configured with a set of omnidirectional wheels 2, positioned on a ground surface for accommodating a user desiring to perform skateboarding, a curved-shaped member 3 installed on the platform 1 via a telescopically operated link for providing a support to the user's head portion while skateboarding, a camera 4 installed on the platform 1 for detecting exact location of the user's head portion, a motorized slider 5 for translating the link in a manner to position the member 3 underneath the user's head portion to extend for positioning the member 3 in contact with the user's head portion, and a pair of telescopically operated bar each attached with a handle 7, installed on the platform 1 to extend for allowing the user to grip the handle 7 as a means of support while performing the skateboarding."
