MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018195 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'skate boarding assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Ajay Kumar Upadhyay.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A skate boarding assistive device comprising, a concave shaped body 1 configured with multiple wheels 2 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a microphone 3 embedded on the body for enabling user to input voice commands regarding a level of assistance required by the user, a speaker 4 mounted on the body for providing voice alerts to the user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 mounted on the body for capturing multiple images of the ground surface to determine any obstacle ahead of the user, a motorized wheel 6 attached with the body via a U-shaped link 7 for providing additional movement to the user, a telescopic rod 8 configured with the body for extending and positioning the rod in proximity to user's hand portion for enabling the to grab the rod to maintain a steady speed while moving with the body."
