MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521134652 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'sinkhole prediction and rescue system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sinkhole prediction and rescue system, comprising of a platform 101, a universal mounting arrangement adaptively attach the platform 101 to an underbody of a vehicle, an optical sensor scan the vehicle underbody and generate real-time 3D map, multiple extendable arms 103 terminating in multiple clamp 104 for detecting clamping force and surface stability, a sensor array 105 to analyze pavement surface integrity and detect subsurface anomalies, a vehicle rescue assembly comprising two sliding rails 201, multiple stabilizing blocks 202 comprising retractable penetrating pins 203 to embed into road surface, multiple propulsion elements 204 to deploy the blocks 202, multiple synthetic ropes 205, a winch to control rope tension and stabilize the vehicle, and multiple hydraulic rods 206 terminating in multiple omnidirectional wheels 207 to provide controlled mobility during rescue, and a laser projector 208 projects a visible boundary marking a predicted sinkhole zone and alert nearby individuals and vehicles."
