Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Single-Point Beam Focusing For RIS' Filed by Qualcomm Incorporated

MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547068175 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on July 17, for 'single-point beam focusing for ris.'

Inventor(s) include Yapici Yavuz; Prasad Narayan; Luo Tao; and Li Junyi.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A network device, such as a base station or a RIS, obtains an indication of a characteristic distance associated with a configurable array of reflective elements. The network device provides a communication for a wireless device using a beam focusing configuration of the configurable array of reflective elements with a first focusing distance based on the characteristic distance."
