MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122110 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'simulation-based wifi vulnerability assessment system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Kumaresan A; and Mr. Aveer Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a simulation-based Wi-Fi vulnerability assessment system including a processor configured to execute a simulation engine, wherein the simulation engine includes a plurality of simulated attack modules, each simulated attack module corresponding to a different Wi-Fi attack methodology and having an associated probability-based success rate for determining simulation outcomes, wherein the simulation engine is configured to simulate Wi-Fi vulnerability assessment without performing actual network attacks, a user interface module providing user interaction capabilities for initiating simulations, and an output module for communicating simulation results. The system enables safe cybersecurity education through probability-based attack simulations that mimic real-world penetration testing tools including aircrack-ng, reaver, wifiphisher, hashcat, cowpatty, and evil twin attacks without requiring elevated system privileges or performing actual network intrusion, while providing automated PDF report generation containing simulated attack outcomes and security recommendations."
