MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511100172 A) filed by Indian Council Of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, on Oct. 16, 2025, for 'silica enriched agri-residue and steel slag based soil conditioners and method of preparation thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the development of eco-friendly, silica-rich soil conditioning compositions derived from steel slag and enriched with organic amendments and microbial consortia. The steel slag provides cssential minerals such as silica, calcium, and iron, while the organic amendments contribute to organic carbon, moisture retention. and nutrient buffering. The distinct formulations are for incorporating Si-rich agri-biomass enriched compost and the phosphorus-rich organic manure (PROM). The compositions are biologically activated using a consortium of beneficial microorganisms. The invention offers a sustainable, cost-effective solution for improving soil fertility and supporting environmentally responsible agriculture."
