MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056650 A) filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd., Beijing, on June 12, for 'signaling encapsulated data representing alignment axes of a video.'
Inventor(s) include Thomas, Emmanuel; and Potetsianakis, Emmanouil.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application relates to a method and apparatus of signaling encapsulated data representing image data of an image, the method comprising : -writing (110) image data of an image as encapsulated data; and -writing (130) data representing at least one target alignment axis of the image as encapsulated data, each target alignment axis indicating a vertical or horizontal axis of the image used by a media player to display the image once said image has been aligned in such a way that a distance between a horizontal or vertical axis of a displaying surface and said target alignment axis is minimized in the limit of displaying the aligned image over the full displaying surface."
The patent application was internationally filed on May 29, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/096955.
