MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022348 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'sidewalk sleeving device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sidewalk sleeving device, comprises of a frame 1 installed with a first and second rod 4, coupled with each other via a motorized double rack gear lever mechanism 5 to develop a sleeve or bore earth surface near a sidewalk, an image capturing module 9 to calculate amount of pressure to be exerted by the second rod 4 while boring the surface, a pressure sensor for determining pressure exerted by the second rod 4 while translatory movement, a thermal imaging module 3 for detecting presence of any living creature or any obstacle restricting the insertion of the second rod 4 within the surface, a robotic arm 6 to remove out the creature, and a motorized at an apex portion of the second rod 4 for cutting down the obstacle restricting movement of the second rod 4 within the surface."
