MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517091541 A) filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd., Beijing, on Sept. 24, for 'sidelink transmission method and apparatus therefor.'

Inventor(s) include Jiang, Xiaowei.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed in the embodiments of the present application are a sidelink transmission method and an apparatus therefor. The method comprises: a first terminal determining the first terminal to be a response terminal; the first terminal determining, during a logical channel prioritization (LCP) process, a second terminal to be a target receiving terminal of a data packet, wherein the second terminal is an initiating terminal of a shared COT; and the first terminal sending the data packet to the second terminal by using the shared COT. By means of implementing the embodiments of the present application, performing LCP of a COT can be supported when a response terminal of a shared COT sends data to an initiating terminal, such that when the response terminal sends a data packet by using the shared COT, it can be ensured that a receiving terminal of the data packet is the initiating terminal of the shared COT, and the problem of how to use, in a Sindlink-U (sidelink-unlicensed) scenario, a shared COT for transmission is solved."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 14, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/081476.
