MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514074121 A) filed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Aug. 4, 2025, for 'side structure for electric vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Arai Hayato; and Sasaki Makoto.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[Problem to be Solved] To protect a battery pack installed on the lower side of a floor from an impact load. [Solution] A side structure for an electric vehicle includes a side member 20 disposed outside a battery pack 10, a side sill 40 disposed outside the side member 20, and a battery mounting member 30 joined to a lower portion of the side member 20 to suspend the battery pack 10. The battery mounting member 30 extends toward the lower side of the vehicle from a lower surface of the side member 20 and extends in the front-rear direction."
