Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Shifting Quantization Center By Gradient Of A Rate' Filed by Interdigital Ce Patent Holdings, Sas

MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517096608 A) filed by Interdigital Ce Patent Holdings, Sas, Paris, on Oct. 7, for 'shifting quantization center by gradient of a rate.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are configured for shifting a quantization center by a gradient of a rate. A video coding device (e.g., a video encoding and/or video decoding device) may obtain a quantization index. The device may shift the quantization index based on an amount that is inverse of the quantization index. The device may apply the shifted quantization index to a transform coefficient to generate an adjusted transform coefficient."
