MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084178 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research, New Delhi, on Dec. 8, 2023, for 'shape-stabilized phase change materials for temperature regulation and preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Swastik Mondal; and Anagha Ghosh.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to shape-stabilized phase change material for temperature regulation and preparation thereof. the present invention relates to shape-stabilized phase change composite material with specific phase change latent heat which can be solid and thermally stable even at temperatures below or above their phase transition temperature. To optimize thermal efficiency, a multilayer configuration of composite materials is used, minimizing the disparity between theoretical and observed solidification temperatures. These layers are separated by either metal or metallized nets, with variable thicknesses to enhance thermal conductivity and structural integrity and capable of maintaining temperatures between 11.5 and 14.5 C."
