MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011920 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'sewing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Subhrajit Beura.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sewing assistive device, comprising a V-shaped frame 101 composed of a pair of telescopic rods 102 attached by means of a hinge joint 103 positions adjacent to a sewing needle of a sewing machine, a suction cup 104 attached by means of a primary ball and socket joint 105 on a sliding unit 106 gripping surface of the sewing machine for stabilizing the frame 101 position, a hollow square member 107 provided at a front end of the frame 101, pair of sliders 108 with telescopic links 109 having clippers 110 at the ends attached by means of secondary ball and socket joints 111 and an imaging unit 112 determine width of the strip to trigger a microcontroller to actuate the links 109 to grip the strip by the clippers 110 and secondary ball and socket joints 111 guide with sewing the strip onto the fabric."
