MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202348056804 A) filed by Google Llc, Mountain View, U.S.A., on Aug. 24, 2023, for 'sequence number transfer for radio bearers.'

Inventor(s) include Hsieh, Jing; and Wu, Frank.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "One or more processors, operating in a source base station (104A/B, 106A/B) and/or a target base station (104A/B, 106A/B), determines a change in the termination point from the source base station to the target base station for a radio bearer with a current count value according to data unit sequencing. The one or more processors determine (1806) whether a user equipment (UE) changes the data unit sequencing as a result of the change in the termination point. In a first instance, the one or more processors cause the target base station to apply (1810) the current count value to the radio bearer, in response to determining (1806) that the data unit sequencing does not change. In a second instance, the one or more processors cause the target base station to apply (1820) a new count value different from the current count value to the radio bearer, in response to determining (1806) that the data unit sequencing changes."

The patent application was internationally filed on May 28, 2020, under International application No.PCT/US2020/034906.
