MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514068851 A) filed by Mikuni Corporation, Tokyo, on July 18, 2025, for 'sensor unit and manufacturing method thereof.'

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a sensor unit (U1, U2, U3, U4, U5, U6) and a manufacturing method thereof that excel in water pressure resistance and weather resistance, and may achieve facilitation, miniaturization, thinning, and cost reduction of manufacturing, simplification of the manufacturing process, reduction of manufacturing cost, improvement of assembly accuracy, and the like. The sensor unit (U1, U2, U3, U4, U5, U6) includes an outer case (10) made of resin, having an annular facing surface (11) facing an applicable object (1) and a recessed portion (12) opening into a region surrounded by the annular facing surface (11), an inner case (20) made of resin, having a flat plate portion (21) disposed and fixed inside the recessed portion (12), and sensor accommodating portions (22, 23, 24) protruding from the flat plate portion (21) toward an opposite side to a bottom surface (12b) of the recessed portion (12) and opening toward the bottom surface (12b) of the recessed portion (12); sensors (30, 40, 50) disposed in the sensor accommodating portions (22, 23, 24); a circuit board (60), fixed to the flat plate portion (21), to which the sensor is electrically connected; and a resin sealing material (70), filled into an internal space (IS) defined by the outer case (10) and the inner case (20) and covering the flat plate portion (21)."
