MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123061 A) filed by Suraj Arya; and Central University Of Haryana, Jaat, Haryana, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'sensor integrated mechanism for fuel dispensing fraud identification and preventing fueling malpractices for automobiles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In real life that while filling fuel in vehicles, many types of frauds come to the fore, one of the main ones is that less oil is put in the fuel tank and the fuel dispenser shows full oil, many times the fuel nozzle releases fuel into the fuel tank with high pressure, due to high pressure, foaming form in the fuel tank, there is a possibility that a part of the foaming may also be considered as fuel and the machine may take payment for that foaming part also. Fuel pressure is also increased by mixing the air into the fuel. Fuel delivery can also be disrupted by tampering with the nozzle or fuel dispenser machine. Therefore, the current invention not only automatically detects these frauds but also proves effective in preventing them."
