MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517080709 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Aug. 26, for 'sensing communication method and apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a sensing communication method and apparatus, which are applicable to WPAN systems supporting UWB, sensing systems, and wireless local area network systems of 802.15 series protocols such as a 802.15.4a protocol, a 802.15.4z protocol, or a 802.15.4ab protocol, IEEE 802.11ax next-generation Wi-Fi protocols such as 802.11be, Wi-Fi 7, or EHT, and 802.11 series protocols such as 802.11be next-generation, Wi-Fi 8, UHR, or Wi-Fi AI. The method comprises: sending, by a sensing requester, a sensing request, an MAC payload of the sensing request comprising sensing initiator address information; when a communication apparatus receiving the sensing request determines that the address thereof does not match the sensing initiator address information, forwarding the sensing request; and when the communication apparatus receiving the sensing request determines that the address thereof matches the sensing initiator address information, analyzing the sensing request."
