MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007001 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'self-sustaining rain water harvesting system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shalini Verma; Dr. Rosy Sharma; and Ishika.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A self-sustaining rain water harvesting system, comprises of a curve-shaped frame 1 developed to be installed underneath each drain outlet of an enclosure's roof, a sensing module for detecting pH value, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) value of the collected rain water, a motorized iris lid 2 for opening to dispense the collected water inside a pipe 3, a solenoid valve 4 for dispensing collected water inside a curve shaped member 5, an outlet 6 for dispensing water from the member 5 to a container 10, a conduit 9 for supplying water from the member 5 to the container 10, a flow sensor for detecting amount of water supplied from the member 5 to the container 10, and an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 8 to determine accumulation of algae on the member 5, and a flow sensor for detecting amount of water supplied from the member 5."
