MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511126845 A) filed by Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'self-scrolling advertising display system.'
Inventor(s) include Dilbar Singh; Rupinder Singh; and Narinder Singh Khattra.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a self-scrolling advertising display system designed to sequentially display multiple printed posters on a single frame with minimal energy consumption and maintenance requirements. The system is built around a 6 m 3 m modular steel frame equipped with top and bottom rollers, where the bottom roller is driven by a 24 V DC worm-gear motor through a chain-and-sprocket transmission. A timer or microcontroller with a real-time clock controls motor activation at scheduled intervals (for example, every 30 minutes), operating briefly to advance the poster. Posters are secured firmly using a full-width slit-and-clamp mechanism integrated into the driven roller. Electrical power is supplied by a battery pack charged via a solar panel and regulated through a charge controller, enabling reliable off-grid functionality. Safety and reliability are enhanced through the use of limit switches, guarded drive components, and optional torque-limiting features."
