MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541131895 A) filed by Mundociclo Private Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 26, 2025, for 'self-powered intelligent garment button.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Binoj S S.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments herein provide a self-powered intelligent garment button 100 configured to generate garment-condition and body-health data. The self-powered intelligent garment button 100 includes an energy unit 102 including a photovoltaic element, a power management circuit 104, an energy-storage unit 106, a sensing unit 108 having a sensor array 302, and a wireless communication interface 110. The photovoltaic element converts ambient light into electrical power, which is regulated and stored to power the sensing and communication functions. The energy unit 102 and the sensing unit 108 are interconnected through a conductive coupling that provides mechanical attachment and electrical power transfer. The sensor array 302 acquires physiological and environmental and body health signals including data from body sensors associated with a garment and computes one or more garment condition and health monitoring parameters to generate garment condition and body health data. The generated data is transmitted to a user device through the wireless communication interface 110, enabling energy-autonomous operation and continuous garment condition monitoring of both garment conditions and user health.
