MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421037585 A) filed by Godrej Consumer Products Ltd., Maharashtra, on May 13, 2024, for 'self oxidative single composition hair colour.'
Inventor(s) include Kumar, Krishnaraj; Nayak, Meghana; Raghavachari, Rajan; Rawat, Rupinder Kaur; Ovhal, Vinod; Yadlapalli, Venkateswara; and Peter Kuruthikulam, Abraham.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a single composition self oxidative hair colour product containing optimal concentration of self-oxidative molecule preferably Gallic acid which leads to the desired shade (intensity and coverage) within an intended duration of treatment. Gallic acid auto oxidises in the presence of air and alkaline pH further enabling oxidation of oxidative dyes (precursors and couplers) present in the colorant leading to shade delivery on the hair. The composition of invention is preferably an antioxidant-free formulation."
