MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012675 A) filed by Hyundai Motor Company; and Kia Corporation, Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'self-ejecting secondary lock connector position assurance mechanism and connector comprising the same.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a self-ejecting secondary lock connector position assurance mechanism comprises: a fixed terminal, a plurality of curved moving terminals, and several spring-loaded micro-switches. The present invention also provides a connector system for a vehicle comprising: a male connector having male terminals; a female connector having female terminals; a first and second lock; and a self-ejecting secondary lock connector position assurance mechanism; wherein each female terminal includes a curved moving terminal; a fixed terminal that passes through each female terminal, starting from one end to the other; and multiple micro spring-loaded switches on the fixed terminal."
