MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005466 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'self-disinfecting writing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Amrita Singh; Vinesh Kumari; and Aarju.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A self-disinfecting writing assistive device, comprises a barrel shaped body 1 associated with the device, configured with a motorized ring 2 having multiple slots 3 utilized to accommodate multiple writing refills positioned by a user within the slots 3, a color detection sensor is installed within the body 1 to detect color of the refills, a touch enabled screen 4 mounted over the body 1 to allow a user to enter details regarding color of the refill, pneumatic pins 5 attached within each of the slots 3, and each of the pins 5 is configured with a motorized wheel, wherein in accordance with the user's selected color, for providing a downward motion to the refill for allowing the user to write over the sheet, and microphone 9 installed over the body 1 to receive voice commands from the user regarding translation of a word/sentence in a preferred language."
