MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006209 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'self-cleaning aquarium.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Parveen Singla; Dr. Ruchi Singla; Dr. Dinesh Arora; and Dr. Shweta Lamba.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A self-cleaning aquarium, comprising a transparent body 1 attached with plurality of wheels 2 via telescopic links 3 for maneuvering the body 1 on ground surface, a camera 4 mounted over the body 1 for determining impure water, plurality of chambers 5 attached over the body 1 containing food for feeding aquatic species, a motorized slider 6 fabricated attached with a net 7 configured within the body 1 for translating net 7 to secure the species, a plate 8 configured with a drawer arrangement 9 for preventing water flow from body 1, a container 10 stored with a filtration unit 11 and a suction unit 12 integrated with the body 1 to filter the water and dispense the filtered water into the body 1."
