MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517095158 A) filed by Interdigital Patent Holdings, Inc., Wilmington, U.S.A., on Oct. 3, for 'selection of a pru based on channel conditions.'
Inventor(s) include Deng, Tao; Hasegawa, Fumihiro; Hoang, Tuong, Duc; Marinier, Paul; and Lee, Moon-Il.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) configured to: send, to a first positioning reference unit (PRU) and a second PRU, a channel condition measurement request indicating a request for the first PRU to perform first channel condition measurements associated with a first link between the first PRU and an anchor WTRU, and for the second PRU to perform second channel condition measurements associated with a second link between the second PRU and the anchor WTRU; receive the first channel condition measurements from the first PRU and the second channel condition measurements from the second PRU; perform third channel condition measurements associated with a link between the WTRU and the anchor WTRU; select a PRU based on the first, second, and third channel condition measurements; and send a third request to the selected candidate PRU indicating for the selected candidate PRU to join a sidelink positioning group."
