MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641007334 A) filed by Vaijinath A Verma, Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on Jan. 25, for 'security shield for the apartments using lorawan and gsm technology.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The current innovation will provide a smart automation and security system in an apartment that is aimed at providing 24/7 monitoring, real-time reaction, and adaptive protection against natural dangers and unauthorized access. The system comprises a microcontroller and a series of sensors, which include fire and thermal sensors, LPG gas leak sensor, door access sensor, and PIR motion sensor, and the actuators are exhaust fans, heating elements, and relay-driven circuits. Such necessary features include audible alerts in the form of a buzzer, a GSM modem to participate in the remoteness through SMS communication, an LCD to monitor real-time status, LED indicators to notify a user of instant feedback and a protective case to enhance durability and safety. Automatic shutdowns, power cutoffs and escalation of alerts are controlled by embedded safety protocols and event logging is provided to be transparent and offer diagnostics. Battery backup will also be provided that ensures continuous functionality when the power is down, and the modular design will be able to scale up to support multi-apartment complexes, thus ensuring that centralized monitoring and stable communication can be achieved. The invention also integrated a Centralized LoRa-GSM Integrated Network hub, which will consolidate sensor data of LoRa devices mounted in the respective flats. In the case of abnormal activity, the hub sends a notification to the security guard and the flat owner through GSM. The authenticated control, safety levels, and user-friendly operation are obtained with the help of secured communication between the user and the device since their interaction is provided with pre-registered SIM numbers enabling authorized communications, including "GET DATA, Power On, or Power Off, etc. This invention provides an affordable, trustworthy, and easy-to-use upgrade to the traditional method of apartment security systems."
