MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018892 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'secured theft prevention device for trolley bag.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Akash Kumar Verma; and Dr. Bed Prakash.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured theft prevention device for trolley bag, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 installed underneath a trolley bag, multiple suction cups 2 to affix body 1 with the bag, a fingerprint sensor accessed by a user to provide finger impressions, multiple telescopic rods 3 to extend towards ground surface and lift the trolley bag, multiple suction units arranged underneath the rods 3 to affix on ground surface in order to secure rods 3 on the ground surface, a pneumatic unit connected with each suction units to generate suction pressure between suction units, an imaging unit 4 to determine positioning of user's hands while accessing the bag, a pair of robotic links 5 to secure user's wrist portion via a C-shaped clamp 6, a touch sensor to detect securing of clamp 6 around the user's wrist and an electromagnetic patch 7 to lock the clamp 6."
