MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019745 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'secured temperature sensitive device for fomentation.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ekta Kapoor; and Dr. Meenakshi Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured temperature sensitive device for fomentation, encompasses a body 1 with a threaded cap 2 for adding hot liquid, the body 1 features a looped strap 3 for wrapping around the user's body part, with a motorized primary roller 4 to adjust strap 3 tension, a skin sensor on strap 3 assesses the user's skin type and an inbuilt microcontroller determines a safe skin-friendly temperature, inside the body 1, a first temperature sensor monitors water temperature, while a second sensor tracks the external temperature, a motorized secondary roller dispenses an inflatable sheet over the body 1, maintaining the ideal temperature for effective fomentation, a button 5 on the body 1 controls an electronically operated valve 6 to increase liquid flow through the strap 3, maximizing contact with the user's body part, a timer tracks fomentation duration, and a vibrating unit 7 alerts the user when to stop the therapy."
