MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023987 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'secured sleeping assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a secured sleeping assistive device, comprising an L-shaped extendable frame having a first and second portion developed to positioned in proximity to a lateral side of a bed, plurality of suction cups installed on first portion of L-shaped frame for gripping surface of the floor, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module linked with microcontroller to capture images and determine height of the bed, a plate installed on first portion for creating a barrier, an infrared motion sensor installed on plate for determining movement of the user's body, a drawer arrangement installed on plate for extending plate, plurality of touch sensors integrated on plates for determining touch of user's body on plate, and a speaker installed on the frame for creating an alert."
