MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019280 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'secured refrigerator locking device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured refrigerator locking device comprises of a pair of elongated primary and secondary bodies 1, 2 installed on edge of a refrigerator's door and corresponding refrigerator body's edge, an imaging unit 3 for determining facial feature of a user, a database to store details of authorized users for accessing refrigerator which is scrutinized by microcontroller for comparing determined facial feature with pre-fed facial features of authorized user, multiple electromagnets 4 for de-energizing to allow user to open door, a speaker 5 to produce audio notification for user to close door, multiple extendable pins 8 for getting inserted into multiple cylindrical members 9, a retractable clamp 10 for being engaged within multiple cavities 11 in order to lock refrigerator's door, and a pair of telescopically operated bar 12 to extend for positioning a plate 13 on sides of refrigerator's gasket in order to cover any leakage on gasket."
