MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079837 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 24, 2023, for 'secured mobility assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Vinod Kumar; and Sajjan Singh.
The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured mobility assistive device, comprising a frame configured with a seat 4 to provide a seating platform to a user, wherein a front 1 and rear wheel 2, configure within said frame and each of said wheels 1, 2 paired with a brake 3 to allow said user to stop movement of said wheels 1, 2 fed by rotating a pair of paddle 5 paired with said rear wheel 2, a primary bevel gear arrangement 6 paired with paddles 5 rotate followed by the paddle, a secondary bevel gear arrangement 7 rotates rear wheel 2, an artificial intelligence based camera 8 paired with lidar sensor installed over frame monitoring condition of surface, a vibration unit 9 installed over handle to notify user, a motorized clamp 10 attached with frame eliminate chances of misbalancing of frame, and a microphone 11 installed over frame provide command regarding locking frame."
